Volunteer safety and Health

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our volunteers, and we have experience in this area. We provide preparation for trips and minimize risk with best practices and industry-leading procedures. We have an unmatched record of keeping volunteers safe in the the region we operate in.

Managing Safety and Health across our programs

Our health and safety management approach is comprehensive and designed to minimize risks in all of our programs. We provide volunteers with the necessary information and resources, so they know how to stay safe, secure, and healthy. This includes educating volunteers on appropriate safety protocols, implementing regular risk assessments, and maintaining a comprehensive safety plan. We also ensure that all volunteers have access to first-aid kits and emergency contact information in case of an emergency. Furthermore, our programs incorporate regular safety drills and training to ensure that everyone is prepared to respond in an emergency situation. By taking these proactive steps, we are able to ensure that our volunteers are safe and secure while participating in our programs.

The Mama Dani organization team offers comprehensive support before, during, and after volunteer trips, with local teams available 24/7 in-country. Volunteers must have travel insurance, and we can assist with choosing a suitable insurance provider.

we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our volunteers from the post Covid-19

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented additional health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of volunteers introducing new infections to the local community. These protocols include:

  • screening volunteers for Covid-19 symptoms and fever before they are allowed to enter the community;
  • providing them with personal protective equipment such as face masks and gloves;
  • requiring them to practice social distancing and good hygiene while working.
  • requiring volunteers to wash their hands regularly, and sanitizing any shared equipment and common areas.
  • We are committed to providing a safe environment for our volunteers and the local community, and taking all necessary steps to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
