Overview

Interns assist social workers and healthcare professionals in addressing inequalities in underprivileged communities around Arusha. This includes delivering important health and educational resources and services to people in their homes and communities, as well as providing specific assistance for social issues such as abuse, poverty, homelessness, joblessness, and other factors that contribute to the socio-economic disparities. Interns may also provide support in developing and implementing strategies to tackle the root causes of these issues, such as providing access to job skills training, mentoring, and other resources. Internship details

This Social Work & Community Outreach internship provides assistance to address specific social issues such as alcohol and drug abuse, domestic abuse, youth pregnancy and unemployment in underprivileged communities around Iringa. Interns help to deliver health and education resources and services to people in their homes and communities, and can improve access to vital healthcare services. They will be placed in NGOs, rehabilitation centers, charities and with community programs, and travel alongside social workers and/or medical professionals. In addition, interns can schedule day trips and longer excursions, such as multi-day safari adventures to Ruaha National park or any of Tanzania park.

Intership fees

It’s free to apply for this internship. Once we have reviewed your suitability and accepted you onto this program, you’ll need to pay a deposit of US$449 to confirm your place. The remaining balance of your Program Fee (less your initial US$449 deposit payment) will be due no less than 60 days before your internship start date.
