Detailed Itinerary
Ruaha National Park is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks and is located in the southern part of the country. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, and more. Here is a suggested day itinerary for a trip to Ruaha National Park:
Iringa to Ruaha Np: Pick up from Iringa and drive to Ruaha National Park. Drive through the park’s diverse landscapes, which include open plains, woodlands, and riverine vegetation. Keep an eye out for elephants crossing the roads, as they are known to do in Ruaha.
– Stop for a picnic lunch at one of the park’s designated picnic areas. Enjoy your meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush.
Continue your game drive after lunch, exploring different areas of the park. Ruaha National Park is vast, covering an area of over 20,000 square kilometers, so there is plenty to see and explore. Look out for hippos and crocodiles in the Great Ruaha River, which cuts through the park. This river serves as a lifeline for the wildlife in the area. Drive to one of the park’s lookout points, such as the Mdonya Viewpoint, for panoramic views of the park and its wildlife.
late afternoon: Drive back to Iringa.
